This Privacy Policy describes how Individual Entrepreneur Marat Muslimov (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the foodoo mobile application (the “App”) and the website at foodoo.fit (the “Website”), collectively referred to as the “Service.”

By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: When you sign up using Sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID, name (if you choose to share it), and email address (or a private relay address).
  • Profile data: Health goals, dietary preferences, age, height, weight, and activity level that you voluntarily provide to personalize the Service.
  • Food photos: Images of meals that you submit for AI nutritional analysis.
  • Text entries: Descriptions of meals entered via the text-based analysis feature.
  • Support communications: Emails, messages, and feedback you send to us.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: Features used, frequency of use, meal scan timestamps, app session duration.
  • Device information: Device model, iOS version, app version, language, time zone.
  • Analytics data: Anonymized, aggregated statistics to help us improve the Service.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Apple HealthKit: If you enable HealthKit integration, we read and write nutritional data (calories, macronutrients, water intake). HealthKit data is never used for advertising or shared with third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and improve the Service, including AI-powered food recognition and nutritional analysis.
  • Process food photos through our AI systems to generate nutritional breakdowns.
  • Personalize your experience based on your health goals and preferences.
  • Generate AI-powered nutritional advice and recommendations (Premium feature).
  • Send you important service-related communications.
  • Analyze aggregated, anonymized usage trends to improve our AI model and Service.
  • Respond to your support requests.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Food Photo Processing

When you scan a meal, the photo is transmitted to our servers using industry-standard TLS encryption. Our AI model analyzes the image to identify foods and calculate nutritional content. Food photos are automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours of processing. We do not use your photos for advertising, sell them to third parties, or use them for any purpose other than providing you with nutritional analysis and improving the accuracy of our AI model (using anonymized, de-identified data only).

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers: Cloud hosting (for AI processing), analytics providers, and payment processors (Apple App Store) that help us operate the Service. These providers are contractually bound to use your data only for the purpose of providing services to us.
  • Legal requirements: If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to users.

5. Data Retention

  • Food photos: Deleted within 24 hours of processing.
  • Nutritional data & meal history: Retained for the duration of your account. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
  • Account information: Retained until you delete your account.
  • Analytics data: Anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for product improvement.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption for data in transit, AES-256 encryption for data at rest, and regular security audits. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Delete your personal data (available in-app: Settings → Account → Delete Account).
  • Export your data in a portable format (Premium: CSV/PDF export).
  • Object to certain processing of your data.
  • Withdraw consent for optional data processing at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your data to such locations. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
