A food diary works only if it is where you already are. For many people that is not a separate app but a messenger that stays open all day — or, for developers, a terminal window. foodoo has both: a Telegram bot and a command-line app. Both write to the same diary as your phone, so whatever you log appears everywhere at once.
foodoo in Telegram
Open @myfoodoo_bot, press Start and confirm the connection in the foodoo app or on the website. After that the chat is your diary:
- Write what you ate — “oatmeal with banana and a coffee” — and the bot counts it and logs it.
- Send a photo of your plate, the same analysis as the camera in the app.
- Send a voice message when typing is inconvenient.
- Commands:
/todayfor the day so far,/waterto add a glass (or/water 300),/statsfor the week,/deleteto pick an entry to remove,/help.
It is handy at work, on a laptop, or when you already have Telegram open: no switching apps, and a meal sent to a chat takes seconds.
foodoo in the terminal
For macOS and Linux there is a small command-line app. Install it with one line:
curl -fsSL https://foodoo.fit/install.sh | shThen foodoo login shows a QR code and a code to confirm in the app, and foodoo opens an interactive diary: type what you ate and press Enter, drag a photo or an audio file into the window, or use /today, /day -1, /water 250, /portion 2 150, /undo and /stats 30.
There are plain commands for scripts too — foodoo add "greek yoghurt with honey", foodoo add --photo lunch.jpg, foodoo today --json, foodoo water 300 — with clear exit codes, so a diary entry can be part of a shortcut, a cron job or a status bar. The app keeps itself up to date.
Safe by design
- Both connect by a short code that you confirm yourself in the app — no password is typed anywhere.
- Their access reaches only the diary, water and statistics. They cannot change your account, your goals or your subscription.
- Every connection is listed in Profile → Devices and apps, where one tap disconnects it.
Who it is for
People who spend the day at a computer, people who log a lot of food and want it fast, and anyone who simply prefers a chat to an app. The diary is the same: dishes logged in Telegram or the terminal show up in the app with their pictures, count towards your targets and your statistics, and can be corrected from any device. Premium is bought in the app; everywhere else it simply works when you have it.
